Samara isn't afraid to say whatever is on her mind, but sometimes this gets her into trouble, particularly at Sunbeam Academy. The second-youngest child of three older sisters and a younger brother, Samara's family migrated to Australia from Zimbabwe when she was five. She has a particularly close relationship with her paediatrician father, whose decision to move countries was largely to secure greater support for Samara was she was diagnosed with autism at four. A former champion gymnast, she's a perfectionist who takes things to extremes. Samara's a born leader, and always ready to speak up for herself and defend others. Because of this, she immediately clashes with Sunbeam principal Debra Spade, and frequently finds herself the target of Debra's wrath. Samara, however, has a secret, and her fellow students have no idea why she's really at Sunbeam Academy.
